Privacy Policy

QR Code Scanner is designed to decode QR codes locally in Chrome. This policy explains the browser access it needs and how scan data is handled.

Local QR processing

Visible-page screenshots, page images and QR pixels are processed on your device by the extension. QR image content and decoded results are not sent to richbirds.net or to a remote recognition service.

Page and image access

When you start a scan, the extension may read the active tab, capture its visible area, inspect image sources, canvases and CSS background images, or fetch an image you selected from the context menu. This access is used only to perform the requested scan.

Stored scan results

The latest scan result may be saved in Chrome extension storage so a result page can display it. The data remains in your browser profile until it is replaced, cleared through browser data controls, or removed when the extension is uninstalled.

No sale, advertising or accounts

The extension does not require an account, include advertising, sell personal information, or use analytics to build a browsing profile. Opening a decoded web link is a separate action controlled by you and is subject to that destination's policies.

Website visits and contact

The richbirds.net website and hosting provider may process standard server information such as IP address, requested URL, browser type and timestamp for security and operation. Contact richbirds3930@gmail.com with privacy questions.
